Perhaps the flamers on both these topics could get together and start a
new echo and quit boring the rest of us who are genuinely interested in
Medical issues not useless rhetoric.  I so enjoyed this board for valuable
information - these two threads no longer meet the criteria of educating
or informing - just nonsense and pontification.
Could we please drop them!!!! PLEASE!!!!

Opinions run high on the subject of false memories, but it gets to
the very heart of matters like the nature of psychiatric disorders.
Unfortunately, the medical establishment doesn't have entirely clean
hands on this one, with its official sanctioning of Freudian quackery
by the AMA just after the end of WWII.

What will put the repressed memory therapists and their devotees out of
business is not argument or even lawsuits, but the development of better
medical treatments for psychiatric disorders.  I see the very strong
possibility of effective treatments for such conditions as borderline
personality disorder becoming available within the next 10-20 years,
maybe even sooner.

C{*filter*}te:  If you feel the people posting on these subjects are boring
you,
quit reading them!  Quite frankly, if you read them, are bored, then
continue to read them, you are boring yourself!

Opinions run high (also) on the subject of circumcision, but it gets to
the very heart of the matters about iatrogenic psychiatric disorders.
Unfortunately, the medical establishment doesn't have entirely clean
hands on this one, with its official sanctioning of anti-{*filter*}
quackery at the turn of the century.

What will put the NORM therapists and their devotees out of
business is not argument or even lawsuits, but the development of better
medical treatments for {*filter*} disorders. I see the very strong
possibility of effective treatments for such conditions as iatrogenic
aposthia becoming available within the last few years.

Robert you Renaissance Man you - what a profound response.  As a matter
of fact I list subjects and skip over the nonsense.  Your response was
forwarded to me by a friend.  I feel sorry for Sysops who pay good money
to download this drivel.  If nothing intelligent can be added than silence is
the best response.
