Boston University research suggests new pathways for cancer
progression

promotes rapid tumor growth. Now computer simulations developed by
Boston University Biomedical Engineering Assistant Professor Muhammad

{*filter*} Cancer Stem Cells Succumb to Nanoparticle-Mediated Photothermal
Therapy
Scientists claim nanoparticle-mediated photothermal therapy could
provide an effective therapeutic option for killing off cancer stem
cells (CSCs) that are resistant to traditional forms of radiation and
chemotherapy. Wake Forest School of Medicine researchers have found
that while cancer stem cells from otherwise hard to treat triple
negative {*filter*} cancer are largely resistant to traditional forms of
hyperthermia, the local high levels of heat generated by carbon
nanotubes subjected to laser light causes cell necrosis and rapid cell
death of both CSCs and the bulk cancer cells.

Metastatic {*filter*} cancer hitches a free ride from the immune system
Inflammatory {*filter*} cancer (IBC) is the most lethal form of {*filter*}
cancer . It spreads easily through the lymphatic and {*filter*} vessels,
forming metastasis which can lead to multi-organ failure. New research
published in BioMed Central's open access journal Cell Communication
and Signaling demonstrates how IBC cells use IL-8, secreted as part of
the anti-inflammatory response by a specific set of white {*filter*} cells
(monocytes), to increase fibronectin expression.

souris, selon une recherche publie mercredi aux Etats-Unis, qui
