Sensodyne warning?

 Sensodyne warning?

About a year ago the hygienist at my periodontist's office recommended
using Sensodyne since I was complaining about tooth sensitivity,
especially while brushing.  I tried it and it has helped, but I
noticed that the package insert said to consult with a dentist or
physician if you use it for more than 4 weeks.

My dentist only volunteered that if I was not having any mouth sores
or did not have very high {*filter*} pressure, that I could continue to use
it (the active ingredient is potassium nitrate).  Is that all there's
to it?  Can potassium nitrate cause or aggravate hypertension?

Thanks,
Leon Traister
