Could someone please tell me who discovered the thoracic duct? The same
man wrote "New Anatomical Experiments" if that helps.

Since it's also known as Van Hoorne's c{*filter*}and Pecquet's duct, they
are likely contenders for the honor.  Jean Pecquet (1622-1674) was a
French anatomist.  I suppose Van Hoorne was a Dutch one, but can find
no info on him at hand.

This may sound trivial, but the Dutch don't capitalize the "van" in their
names, and usually - though not always - have a "der" in there, too.
Perhaps he was from another Scandinavian country?

With a name like Hoorne?  Anyway, I believe Van was actually his
first name, like Van Heflen and Van Morrison and Van Winkle.
