Please help my mom-she is having aneurisma

I am 27 years old and live in Split, Croatia, Europe.

My mother is 55 years old. On 1. July 1997. she was very bad. She is now

in

hospital. Doktors said that she had Aneurisma (i think something like

brain

attack). Doctors said to me that there is no special therapy for this. She

is now in coma. They told me that only God can help her. It was very

strong

attack, and they tought that she will not be able to survive more than one

day. She is still alive, and fighting for her life.

Please if anyone knows something about Aneurisma tell me. Any help and

advice is very usefull. World is big. Maybe somewhere someone knows how to

help her. She is very weak and doctors think that she is not able to

survive surgery. She is also conected to oxygen because they want to make

her breathing easier.

I appreciate any advice. How can we cure this thing?

Thanks in advance.

Please e-mail me.

Please would an MD answer this post?  I hope someone has.  There must be
some Western Medicine that could better help this woman.

I know the state of medicine in Eastern Europe is often not up to Western
standards.  Please help this woman if possible.  Couldn't someone donate
some time?  Couldn't someone out there afford to go and help with this?  A
neurological specialist or something?

Maam, if it is too late, I am sorry.  God bless you for trying to help
your mother:).  I hope she survives.

Unfortunately, even the wealthiest of patients with access to the best
medical care in the world often die of brain aneurisms.  If it's in an
inoperable location, she will either survive -- or not -- depending
mainly on the location and severity of the bleed and the healing
abilities of her own body.

Srdan,  If she has had a subarachnoid hemorrhage or intracerebral
bleed and is now in coma, the prognosis is very poor.  It is a complex
issue, but in general, prognosis is related strongly to the level of
consciousness of the patient.  We do not do surgery on aneurysms in
comatose or near comatose patients because the results aren't
improved.  Here is a useful web-site for information about aneurysms:

This person asked for emailed response - I'm sure he was given some. It is
true, alas, that the description suggests quite a serious situation,
possibly with damage to thalamic areas.
