I recently visited my doc and he allowed that you calculate
LDL cholesterol the following way (assuming I heard correctly):
LDL = TC -((TRI/5) + HDL)
TC = total cholesterol
TRI = triglycerides
HDL = HDL cholesterol
He allowed that this estimate is valid for triglyceride values up
to about 300.
My question is :
What is a good level of LDL ? Are there any significant break points
statistically ?
