Can anyone tell me what the mode of action of antihistamines are?  I
mean, do they bind to histamines in the {*filter*}stream, or do they actually
inhibit the production of histamines.

My hunch is that they only bind to histamines already in the
{*filter*}stream.  Are there any {*filter*} being developed which would inhibit
histamine production?
