Before having endoscopy, you should probably have your child examined
thoroughly by a good pediatrician. If there are any pre-existing
illnesses or other sick contacts (recent travel or cats around the house)
or if there are any physical findings associated (port-wine stains,
birthmarks), there may be another condition (other than sprue, Ron) which
is causing this in your child. You don't want to miss something more
ominous while you wait to see if a gluten-free diet has magically removed
the calcifications from your child's brain.
