 mitral valve prolapse & antihistamines

I have a mild mitral valve prolapse and supra-ventricular tachycardia,
so I am unable to take Seldane anymore as it causes tachycardia attacks
at night (NOT a nice way to wake up!)

Allergy season is upon us, and, being allergic to the outdoors in
general, I need a decongestant!!!  I tried Sudafed the other night
(hoping I would be able to breathe in the morning) but my heart beat
irregularly and my chest was tight that night.  Turns out it contains
an ephedrine-like substance (I think) my heart doesn't like.

Is there ANYTHING left I can take?  Preferably one that doesn't make me
sleepy (I miss Seldane!) but at this point anything will do.

BTW, I take 120 mg Verelan once a day.

Thanks!

Talk to your physician about one of the nasal steroid sprays
(Vancenase, Beconase, Nasacort).  For some people they can be very
effective in *preventing* some of the symptoms of hayfever.  Biggest
problem is the need to take them regularly (once or twice daily)
starting before allergy seasojn, and continuing through the season.
Unlike decongestants, they don't yield quick relief; unlike
decongestants, they don't wear off in 6-12 hours.
