 inputs on inner ear disorder?

 Hi,

I've been having problems off and on that cause disorientation,
imbalance and  "vertigoish" sensations that make for much
discomfort. None of the tests have shown anything conclusive and
the diagnosis has been an imbalance with the semicircular canals
in the inner ear. The frustrating thing is that the doctor says
there are no well known causes or treatments for this and I have
to learn to live with it. Does anyone have any deeper insight into
 this or possible treatments/ therapies?

 thanks
 nimish

There are actually quite a few places around the country that
have programs to treat vestibular disturbances.  John's Hopkins comes to
mind, there are also programs at most large rehabilitation centers -
especially those with traumatic head injury units.

A good place to get information about research and treatment
options is from the National Rehabilitation Information Center 800-34-NARIC.

        Good luck!
