Cervical cancer most common among Indians

Indraprasth - Experts have expressed concern over the
spread of cervical cancer as it has become the 'most
commonly occurring cancer' among the Indian women.
Dr V Kochupillai, a noted expert, estimates the incidence
of cervical cancer as 52 per 100,000 women. The latest
cancer registry figures put it at 26.6 per 100,000 in
Delhi.
India, according to an estimate, contributes 18 per cent
of the global load of 100,000 cases every year.
