Pulmonase for Cystic Fibrosis

 Pulmonase for Cystic Fibrosis

A couple of weeks ago, the Canadian Government licensed Pulmonase
(DNAse) for use in Cystic Fibrosis patients. However, they licensed it
only for patients over 5 years old. Having two 2-1/2 year old girls with
the disease, I was wondering why the age restriction?

Also, does anyone know what the results of the clinical trials were or
could you point me to a reference? I'd heard that there was initially
some concern over breakdown products from some of the pathogens such as
Pseudomonas.

Any information is most appreciated. Thanks
