It is NOT bupropion - bupropion induced seizures in bulimic patients
treated with high doses back in the early 1980s, and this delayed the
FDA approval of the drug. Bupropion is now thought to run a slightly
higher risk of seizures than other antidepressants, but all
antidepressants are very mildly proconvulsant. Steve Dyer is right
about fluoxetine - it works well for many patients, and its efficacy
may be somehow related to its antiobsessional effects. The
antiobsessional tricyclic clomipramine has had mixed results in
treatment of bulimia, however.
