lamictal/stevens johnson syndrome

Stevens Johnson is basically an allergic process, and anybody can be
allergic to any drug. Lamictal is the hot new antiseizure drug from
Glaxo. BTW, was the girl also on the old standby Dilantin/phenytoin?
It is famous for causing liver failure and Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
People with a certain genetic defect in metabolism usually get nailed
within 2 months after starting Dilantin therapy. But it can come
later.
