While the above "diagnosis" may be correct, there are surely other
possible causes for that poster's symptoms that would contraindicate
the use of cimetidine or calcium carbonate. "Heart burn" is easily
confused with the discomfort associated with LOW stomach HCl levels
as well, which would require a different treatment. Once symptoms
persist past a reasonable period of time, a proper diagnosis would
go a long way versus guessing or experimenting on your own.
