 Questions on Cholesterol

To all sci.med readers,
Here is a case I have.  I have a young client. She discovered she had
high cholesterol(LDL) when she's 19. Then, she took Lopid twice a day to
control the cholesterol level for more than three years. Recently she
took the {*filter*} examination and found out that the LDL level is still
very high but her {*filter*} pressure is normal at the time.  She doesn't
have any other diseases like diabetics.  She exercises at least twice a
week vigorously and walking is her daily habbit.  She has a healthy,
balance diet.
So, do you have any idea on why her cholesterol never gone down a bit
or do you have any similar cases, or successful solution?
Thanks for your kind attention and consideration.

Lopid doesn't work on everyone.  Get her a better drug, such as Lipitor
or one of the other HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors ("-statin") class
{*filter*}.

Lovastatin worked poorly for me,  but Zocor brought me from 290 down
to around 200 with quite good HDL/LDL ratios.  Just a point of
reference.
Usual disclaimers apply to my lay views and that this is effectively
a testamonial.  YMMV
