INTRODUCTION:
-------------

This special advance issue of the LymeNet Newsletter lists the new
features in Volume 2.  Most of these features were recommended by
readers.  Also due to popular demand, we are printing an index of the
issues from Volume 1.

-Marc.

I.   New Features in Volume 2
-----------------------------

Many of these features are derived from user input:

   * All index lines begin with the string IDX#.  Therefore, indices
of the Newsletter may be automatically created using the popular
Unix "grep" utility.  By issuing a command such as:
               grep IDX# newsletterfile >> indexfile
all lines with the letters IDX# will be printed and saved to the
indexfile.  Archivers may take advantage of this feature for
automatic index creation.  Contact your local computer guru for
     further details.

   * Each feature in the Newsletter now has a separate description
line in the index, rather than a general heading.  This will allow
readers to skim the first page to determine if there are items of
     interest.

   * Each line of the Newsletter will remain under 72 characters so
individuals printing the newsletter on standard printers can
set up margins for ease of readability.  Lines in Volume 1
     extended to 78 characters.
