OOPS, I only meant to post this to sci.med. I have editted out the other
newsgroups from the header...
I have been having infrequent episodes of serious heartburn (~1/week),
along with difficulty swallowing, for the past 2 years. I finally went
to go see a gastroenterologist last week.
He ordered an endoscopy procedure, which I had last Monday. The
written results were:
- Esophageal motility disorder
- Nonspecific gastritis (biopsied)
- Hiatal hernia
- Successful Esophageal Dilation
(I was knocked out for the procedure, so I was unable to discuss the
results with the doctor afterwards.)
I have an appointment next week to meet the doctor to discuss the
results and my options.
The reason I am posting is I'd like to understand these things more
before I meet with the doctor. I'm looking for a book or similar
information which will help give me a clue as to possible causes of
these problems, and possible solutions.
Your help is appreciated!
P.S. I'm a 34 year old male in good physical shape, if that matters.
