I went through many months of a clonidine study. Out of 200 hundred people,
only about seven quit, and some of these were given placebos. I was one
of the seven given a placebo. Dr. Franks, the head of the study, determined
that clonidine's use in quitting smoking was a dismal failure and of no use
at all.
