Computer Therapy and Managed Care

 Computer Therapy and Managed Care

Under managed care your psychotherapy records are available
to insurers and employers and a therapist should notify the
patients accordingly.  To avoid this breach in essential
    confidentiality, computer-mediated therapy programs should
be developed that can be used at home and whose confidential
records are not available to insurers, employers, or managed
    care companies.

    Footnote -

It is par for the course that whatever I say here about
the issues of computer therapy enrages flamers who charge
me with advertising myself and my work.  For a balanced
discussion of ethical and professional issues see
Ford,B.D.(1993) Computers in Human Behavior, 9:387-400.
