mamographic needle aspiration

 mamographic needle aspiration

My apologies for not being a regular reader of this newsgroup.
I hope that I don't break too many of the nettiquettes for this group.

Here's the situation.  My mother recently found a lump in her
{*filter*} and the doctor recommended that she go for a mamographic needle
aspiration.  From what I know, this procedure is basically trying to
determine what the lump is?  Is this correct?  Is there anything we
should now about the procedure?  Is it safe?  What are the possible
results and rough chances of each?

        Please email responses.

                                        Pete
