Causes for Prolonged Throat Discomfort?
For the last week or so, I have had some really strange (to me) feelings
of soreness/pressure along my esophagus (around "adams-apple" down
several inches). The weird part is the feeling isn't like a
sore throat, more like a feeling of discomfort and pressure(?).
Kind of like when you swallow dry bread or an aspirin and it
"sticks" to your throat -- but in my case I can't seem to get
rid of that feeling.
I first really noticed it a week or so ago after eating out and
having a hamburger with a dry, whole wheat bun [8-)].
Now the symptoms keep recurring, and they seem to be getting
longer (hours vs. minutes). Eating something actually makes
it feel better (at least while I eating). Antacids don't seem
to make a difference. Chloroseptic (sp?) throat tabs help a
little.
The only thing my little consumer guide to symptoms basically has
is in the catagory of "lumps in the throat" symptoms. It assumes
that if you are not throwing up {*filter*}, or have dark stools (and
are not taking iron tabs) it's probably stress induced.
I'm no more stressed than usually (I'm usually mildly stressed). My
wife thinks it is probably a result of eating some hard/sharp cooking.net">food
that has highly irritated my throat lining and it should go away
in another week. Any opinions one way or the other?
