I had a hernia repaired last November which resulted in severe
bruising (see attached picture) which extended across my stomach and
into the dangly bits which all consequently turned black as well as
being quite swollen. There was also a heamatoma under the incision. I
was told this sometimes happens.

The {*filter*} is still swollen some 10 weeks after the operation I
presume this is the {*filter*} that has not yet dispersed. Is this normal ?

**I concur with this opinion.  I had an inguinal hernia operation on
December 29th.  It has almost completely healed.  I had another, on the
other side, about eight years ago.  It healed in under six weeks too.  I
would recommend you to go back to your GP without delay because I think my
rate of healing is more normal.
