CONCERNING MY POSTING (I HAVE 3 MONTH TO LIVE)

I would like to somehow, but not completely, appologize to some of the people
who for some or other reason were offended or appalled by my posting...

-->  I have 3 month to live

What I really asked about was obviously different, i.e. varicose veins.

The reason why I chose such a headline is because I have posted my question
here before and got absolutely no response, which obviously frustrated me.

That's when I decided to use a catchy headline ( I am intending to have a
career in advertising anyway, hehehe).

What frustrated me even more is that now I got responses by people who were
offended or just felt the urge to comment on my headline.

I feel that instead of bickering, some of these people should have rather given
me the info I asked, even if they felt that I didn't deserve it.

The bottom line is that I got no response to my first posting, BUT, when I
posted it again with an "offensive" headline, people THEN make the effort to
respond... about my headline.

Aaaaaarrrrggggghhhhhhhh!

It sounds about the same as yelling "FIRE" in a crowded buildig
to me.

Don't quit your day job.

What you DO deserve is to lose your account.

You think you had a problem getting your questions answered
BEFORE this happened......

You SHOULD appologize completely! I know someone who is terminally ill
and take great offense at your callous disreguard for them and those
who care for them by this exploitation.

Netiquette DOES reqire that your message have something to do with the
 subject line.

 > The bottom line is that I got no response to my first posting,

Perhaps because no one had any information.

 > BUT, when I
 > posted it again with an "offensive" headline, people THEN make the effort to

(Take the quotes out -- it was truly offensive) Well, thats because you
got the attention of those who are concerned about the issues related to
dying. They probably don't know or don't care about vericose veins. Then
they (we) felt exploited and manipulated, hence angry. Meanwhile the
folks who are interested in vericose veins may have skipped the message
because they thought it had to do with death.

You defeated you own purpose. There's a reason for subject lines. Please
take this into consideration before you post again.

I appologize for the off topic use of bandwidth. I planned to ignore
in disgust, but the "appology" salted the wound, and I felt I should
 speak publicly.

Maybe your question is not interesting.  Maybe there is no information that can be shared on the subject.  Your subject line was misleading, strident and
offensive.  next time you have a question, at least have the decency to state
upfront the nature of your query.  Instead, you chose to have a subject that
pulled on people's heartstrings, and then followed with a b{*filter*}request.

In other words, when you will work in advertising, you will rely on such
tactics to sell your wares?

Instead of critisizing the guy how about trying to help him.

Email me about what is going on and I may be able to help.  If "modern
medicine" throws you away maybe it's time to change the system.  I am nto
not certain that everyone on this feed are compassionate human beings,
science tends to seperate us from who we truly are, we are a little more
than a buch of chemicals and water.

The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness and
the power of contemplation, rather than upon mere survival.

I remember the first post about varicose veins. What was unfair and
insensitive about posting it was that he did the equivalent of shouting
fire in a theatre. He posted that he had three months to live which would
ensure people reading his post through sympathy and a desire to help. That
cry for help should be reserved for someone who really needs it.

Then the varicose veins. There are some ways to treat some varicose veins.
A dermatologist will know them. He can invest his money is a positive way
and get expert advice. Or he can post honestly here and get inexpert and
expert advice. I didn't have anything to contribute and found the heading
confusing so I didn't answer. I suppose that happened with a lot of people.

His follow-up post of justification displayed an insensitivity to why he'd
offended people.

Yeah, right.  That subject line is going to cause a panic and hurt people.
Get a reality check.  I was slightly amused by the whole thing.
