Can someone of you help with the following problem.
Whenever I lie down I have difficulties
with respiration through the nose.
The specialist it visited said it is due to a
swelling of the mucous membranes and there is nothing
one can do about it.
(Before coming to this conclusion he had tried various
things including an operation on the nose.
It worked in a way: During the operation respiration
was good for about 5 seconds.)
He is probably right because the problems go away
under medikamentation for de-swelling.
According to the specialist this will in the long run
however not help but further worsen the situation.
The problem is that I have to respire through the
mouth the whole night so I often awake from pain when my
mouth has dried out completely. (I'm not allowed to drink
something because of non-functioning of the kidneys)
I also have at times problems with headaches
coming from a sinitis which frequent occurrence
and severnes seems also to be bolstered by the swelling.
The amount of swelling is very irregular
from hardly noticeable to sever. I think I can't
describe the feeling in my lousy English through email
adequately. Therefore I still hope that there is a way
to learn _why_ this happens and restrict it
to the not so sever level.
I should note that I take nifedipin for vaso dilatation
because of high {*filter*} pressure.
However neither {*filter*} pressure nor medikamentation
seem to correlate with the amount of swelling.
Also the overall water-content of the body is
already at its minimum and can not further
be reduced without provocating spasm of the
musculature.
An allergy test was negative.
BTW if only marginal the swelling seems to follow
gravitation i.e. if I turn on the right side it goes
after some time to the right side of the nose
and respiration through the left side is good.
Conversely if I turn to the left side.
Funny thing if it wouldn't be so painful.
TIA for any suggestions.
