 Early Puberty

I had a very early onset of puberty, roughly 11years old. This included a
TREMEDOUS growth spurt that put me at six feet by the age of 15 with little
growth in height subsequent to that. Additionally, and most importantly, I
believe this condition either caused sebatious acne or produced an ealier
onset. Everything seemed normal by the age of eigh{*filter*}.

For a time I was taller, stronger and could run faster than most of the
other boys in 7th & 8th grade, but by 9th they all caught up with me. And,
after that I was a marginal athlete at best.

I think there is a name for this condition and also some treatment. I want
to find out as much as I can now so I can handle it appropriately if I spot
it in my kids. Any advice on where to find more infor will be appreciated.
Thanks!

 Early Puberty

The growth spurt in males (I'm making an assumption about you) may start
anytime between 10.5 and 16 years and end between 13.5 and 17.5 years
(Bates, B., 1995, A Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking, 6th
Ed., Philadelphia, J.B. Lippincott [Bates cites Tanner])

It appears your puberty was normal, given the details you shared.
