Body iron stores are clearly linked with metabolic syndrome

<<snip>>
What this means

Body iron stores are clearly linked with the occurrence of the
metabolic syndrome and, as the earlier study cited, with the
development of type 2 diabetes. It's likely that the chief effect of
raised iron levels is connected with impaired insulin resistance, with
the other findings following on from this. But is this connection one
of cause-and-effect, or are ferritin levels just a 'marker' of insulin
resistance?

If I can borrow a phrase from one of the distinguished posters here. "Dis"
"ease", a body not at ease with itself implies that the body reacts to all
disease and thereby it is not surprising to find alterations in ALL body
constituents.
You can find alterations in redox potentials, in iron, in magnesium in just
about anything you can analyze.
Let me borrow another phrase by saying that is why you do not diagnose lab
tests but are suppose to diagnose patients.

Explain then .. WHY .. such a .. HIGH rate of type 2 in those with
genetic hemochromatosis / iron overload / excess.. ?

No excess protein .. there ..

Just excess .. iron ..

Then we have the Aboriginals .. WITH .. nine times the rate of diabetes
than the general population .. who .. just 'coincidentally' .. HAVE ..
iron levels at BIRTH .. "nice high levels of iron"  which doctors KNOW
.. exist .. as a matter of .. general knowledge ..

Both are have genetic components.

As a result of abnormal physiology attributed to disease in which both can
contribute to disease or is a result of disease.

Are you quoting what doctors know now? vs what they don't know or are they
just wrong?
Any chronic disease can have abnormal iron metabolism as you are well aware
of iron lock out anemia. That is not to say that it is the cause of the
disease but a response to it.
Iron, like the oxygen it carries is essential for life. Iron binds the
oxygen. Any major illness will have metabolic alternations. Some primary and
some not.
You can make connections with iron and disease all you want. The days of
bleeding patients was the first treatment out there. People died and it
didn't help so move on.

I'm beginning to .. think .. there is MORE .. to .. YOUR .. postings TO

.
<<People died and it didn't help so move on >>

Heh .. heh ..

I tell you what .. Robert ..

Since iron reduction therapy has been CLEARLY SHOWN to be of benefit in
MANY different diseases ..the statement YOU .. just .. made .. means ..
the ONLY reason you are on my threads is to attempt to detract FROM ..
iron .. by any means possible ..

Now .. in medicine .. that is a BAD thing ..

Be prepared to be treated in the same manner in which you .. attempt ..
to treat .. people ..

Underhanded tactics .. in .. medicine ..

You are REALLY .. a .. piece of work ..

Now .. read my lips ..

Either you begin to include cites WITH your .. statements .. or simply
.. fk .. off ..

Because .. you are .. useless ..

Simply because you .. seem to be .. quite .. stupid and / or .. evil ..

And I do use the word .. evil .. IN .. the PROPER .. context ..

In your mental state I don't doubt that for one minute.

Medical therapies to reduce iron is clearly of benefit in selected specific
cases and by no means intended for general and all cases and all diseases.

Quote:

You are not involved in medicine so how would you know?

Quote:

Same to you. The way you have mistreated and bad mouthed every medical
professional in every medical newsroom is standard for you. If and when you
are admitted to the hospital I hope you carry copies of your posts and show
them to your caretakers.

Quote:

> Underhanded tactics .. in .. medicine ..

Another slanted attack on medical professionals.
Quote:

> You are REALLY .. a .. piece of work ..

As are most professional in the medical field.
Quote:

> Now .. read my lips ..

Quite often that is what we have to do in hospitals.
Quote:

I don't have a problem with your cites only your over interpretation that
iron is bad. The number of posts I have a definite problem with. They are
meaningless.

Quote:

Because I don't agree with you?

Evil? How long have you been seeing the devil or hearing voices?

Quote:

I think anyone who uses that phrase and then uses the word Jesus is sick. A
person with mental illness does not upset me or make me mad. There is
nothing you can say to upset me. We see it every day in the ER. Mental
illness is prevelent out there walking the streets.

I am aware of that. I don't ague with him. People with mental illness in the
hospitals is a common thing and although they are hard to deal with they
must be dealt with.
I left the hospital for dinner last night and when I came back there was a
homeless man at the hospital entrance looking for something. He asked me if
I had seen his white bag placed in a cart he had left at the hospital
entrance door. It was gone when he came back and started using foul language
like Tom about somebody taking his bag. Because of 9-11 no unattended cars
and or bags are allowed at any hospital entrance. I warned security about
the guy so they can keep an eye on him.
Most of the time I ignore Toms posts and only reply to those others that
might not know Tom.

You're a busy {*filter*}er recently Tom. It must be very upsetting to know you're
wasting your time. Ah well, bollocks to it eh?

Andrew, how many times are you going to crosspost?
You are one of the biggest ones of them all as you reply to each and every
one.

Beav, you shouldn't be so {*filter*} yourself for not re-adding
sci.med.nursing! It's a simple mistake and easily corrected (see above).

Actually Andrew Heenan gives *excellent* advice:

Quote:

assuming he means "block the sender and responses to the sender". Just
think about it!
