 Health Care Costs

I am doing a research paper on health care costs in the United States and
ways to improve our current system.  I would REALLY be grateful and truely
appreciate any and all responses to my survey.  Please email responses to

        or

Like I said, any and all responses would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

C. Marie Riggins

1.  Do you feel that the current U.S. health care system is effective? (Y/N)

2.  Do you feel health care in the U.S. would be improved to switching to a
universal health care system similar to Canadas? (Y/N)

3.  Do you think that Bill Clinton's proposed health care revisions will
    improve
      a) availability of health care? (Y/N)
      b) quality of health care? (Y/N)
      c) cost of health care? (Y/N)

4.  Would you be willing to pay higher taxes in order to improve the health
    care system? (Y/N)

5.  What do you think is the number one problem with health care in the U.S.
    today?

Thanks again for your help.  Results of the survey should be available around
the middle of December if anyone is interested.

No, I don't.

It sure couldn't hurt to try.

You've been brainwashed by the media and Clinton.  It may be expensive
and ineffecient in terms of insurance, but it's certainly effective.
If you get cancer, AIDS, heart disease, or just about any other serious
ailment, the U.S. is the place to be!

Nurse:  "Doctor! The triotrozine isn't working to cure the infected
         hangnail on this patient"

Doctor: "Ok nurse, get me some Drain-o and we'll see if we can boil
away the infection. It sure won't hurt to try!"

>Absolutely

The problem is that higher taxes cannot improve the system.  Everybody
wants a free lunch.  Why should an employer be responsible for covering
its employees?   That should be a fringe benefit that is agreed on
at the time of hiring.  If the benefits aren't to your satisfaction,
find a different employer.

Health care can be simple, especially if you're single:

1.  Self-insure for routine office visits when you get sick. Find a
lower priced clinic or shop around for the best price.

2.  Pay about $60/month for a $1000 deductable $1 million policy
    for catastrophic illnesses and hospitalization.

Since there are probably many different notions of what "effective" means,
what possible meaning could the survey results of this question have?

I am using this survey to approximate the general feelings towards the
current health care system.  I realize that effectiveness has many connotations
and that the results may not be "scientificly accurate."  However, I am only
interested in the approval/disapproval of the health care system and the only
conclusions that I intend to draw from this is whether or not the American
people feel that 1. something is wrong and 2. what or if something should be
done.
I appologize to those who might have been misled as to the purpose of my
questions.
