Some new subscribers to this list may not be aware of the CFS information
files that are available in association with this list. Although an
archive of the log of this list is available at the LISTSERV in the
usual fashion (e.g., send the command GET CFS-L LOG9208 by e-mail to
we cannot store special files on the LISTSERV; however, we can make files

INDEX OF CFS FILES as of August 15, 1992
The following is a brief description of the CFS information files
currently available for retrieval from the NIH file server on the
Internet. The retrieval procedures are reviewed at the end of this
file.
These files are chosen and are maintained by Roger Burns, a CFS
patient, who edits the CFS-NEWS independent electronic newsletter
and is the owner of the CFS-L discussion list. Roger Burns is a
user of the NIH computer system, but is not an employee of NIH; his
judgments and actions are his own and do not represent the views of

The filename is followed by the file's length, and then a brief
description.

The contents include: CFS -- Information and Networking; What is
CFS?; Support Groups; Books; BBSs that carry CFS info; BBSs which
carry the Fidonet CFS Conference; World BBSs which COULD carry

Physicians", published by NIH, May 1992.
SCIENCE.NEWS.UPDATE.DEC91 326 lines; News update on CFS
research published in Dec. '91 issue of Science magazine.
BBS.FILELIST.MAINE 466 lines; brief descriptions of each of 153
info files on CFS available from the USA CFIDS/CFS BBS in
Augusta, Maine at 1-207-623-8486; this is the most
comprehensive source of electronic files regarding CFS
information.
BBS.FILELIST.ARIZONA 325 lines; brief descriptions of each of
129 info files on CFS available from the Tucson CFS BBS at
telephone 1-602-749-0040; an excellent resource.
CDC.DEFIN.ITION 363 lines; the medical article by GP Holmes MD,
et al. which gives the current CDC definition of CFS; published
in the Annals of Internal Medicine, 1988.
MEDICAL.BBS-LIST 704 lines; listing of over 400 medical and
health oriented BBSs around the world; compiled by Ed Del Grosso
MD of the Black Bag BBS of Newark, Delaware USA, telephone

NIH.BACK.GROUN.DER 526 lines; CFS information from NIH.
These files are retrievable by e-mail and by FTP. For e-mail, place
the command GET FTP CFS.<filename> (where <filename> is replaced by
the name of the file in question) in the Subject heading of an
e-mail message -- the message text is ignored. Send the e-mail to
Compuserve users must remember to precede the Internet address with
